Chocolate Snickers Mug Cake

By  | Last Updated:

Have you ever noticed when you’re tired how easy it is to cruise through the kitchen in search of chocolate energy?  Since I have been making an effort to be more mindful about my eating habits I don’t stock the pantry with many ready-made sweet treats. It makes a difference. Of course we still enjoy occasional desserts, especially when we have guests, but I am not planning for my drive-by snatches any longer. However…when you really want a taste of something sweet…and you don’t have anything to eat…where do you go? To the microwave!

Have you tried the popular mug cakes? I’ve pretty much ignored them but this one is worth falling for: Julie’s Moistest Chocolate Mug Cake recipe.  Julie tweaked the recipe so it isn’t dry or spongy like a lot of mug cakes. I added a couple of ingredients to her recipe and wow! It is good! CRAVE and cave!

  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/page/8 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup + 1 tablespoon milk
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons chopped Snickers
  • 1 (heaping!) teaspoon caramel sauce
