Tips for Entertaining that Will Make You Smile

I’m part of the Mom It Forward Blogger Network and I was compensated by Trident to give you something to chew on…

Our friends phoned to say they wanted to stop over for an impromptu visit. We’re always up for friends coming over so of course we said “yes”. I don’t obsess about everything being perfect when friends drop by, especially for an informal get-together but you still want things to be inviting. I buzzed into the kitchen and made these quick caramel stuffed rolls—tender, flaky rolls with gooey caramel on the inside. Warm. Satisfying. Stick to your ribs? Nah. Stick to your teeth? Maybe…but they sure go down easy!

While the rolls were in the oven, I did my turbo tasks for last-minute guests: a quick cruise and pick-up through the entryway and living room; clean hand towel and inspection of the downstairs bathroom; spiff up of the kitchen. It seems friends always end up congregating around the kitchen bar.

Trident Layer Gum

The kitchen is where I also keep a stash of sugar-free Trident gum. It’s the perfect thing to offer guests after eats and treats. Much more agreeable than handing out toothbrushes to everyone! I’m loving their Wild Strawberry-Tangy Citrus right now and they have a delicious Tropical Twist and a refreshing Spearmint I especially like. If you chew Trident for 20 minutes after eating and drinking, it helps to clean and protect your teeth. Four out of five dentists surveyed say they would recommend Trident to their patients. Sounds like a good endorsement to me.

In the past 11 years, Trident has donated more than $2,500,000 to support Oral Health America’s non-profit program, Smiles Across America. That has helped more than two million underserved children get preventive dental care. That’s something to smile about! During the week of September 20th, for each pack of Trident that’s sold, Trident will donate 5¢ to Smiles Across America, up to $250K (void in AL, MA and SC).

Of course you can’t get away with only chewing gum, no matter how good it is. You should floss daily and brush teeth twice a day, for at least two minutes each time. Visit your dentist a couple of times a year. And enjoy your friends as often as possible, even if it is a last minute drop in!

Caramel Stuffed Flaky Rolls

This is my quick solution for making company-favorite caramel rolls that always end in a smile. They’re super-easy:

  1. Use your choice of ready-made rolls
  2. Put one caramel candy in the center of each roll
  3. Place the roll in a cupcake wrap
  4. Sprinkle sugar on the top
  5. Bake according to package directions
