Cara Cara Orange Smoothie

By  |

I’m sharing #Robitussin in my life as part of a Robitussin sponsored series for Socialstars™

I’m no Howie Mandell, but I try to avoid anyone who coughs or has a red nose. That’s hard to do, especially during the winter season. It seems like every other person is coughing. Although I can’t dodge every sniffler, there are a few things I do to keep healthy and stave off sickness.

My list of healthy habits includes:

  • Get enough rest.
  • Eat a balanced menu which includes plenty of fruit and vegetables.
  • Cut out sugar (it suppresses the immune system).
  • Regular exercise.
  • Frequent hand washing.
  • I’m careful not to touch my face when I’m out in public and potentially encountering germs.
  • Keep a positive outlook.

But sometimes even those precautions aren’t enough. Especially when the coughs and red noses are right under your own nose.

Everyone thinks Arizona is the Land of Perpetual Health. If only! My husband has been sick quite a bit this year. He had pneumonia during Thanksgiving and now he has a cold. Poor guy.

And germs travel…poor me!

Robitussin 12 Hour Cough Relief

So, when a germ catches you anyway, and you don’t have time to stay in bed…who you gonna call?  Robitussin® 12-hour Cough Relief to the rescue!

Robitussin® soothes the throat and delivers fast, powerful cough relief for all day or all night respite from the worst cough symptoms. The orange and grape flavors go down easy, too.

Healthy Smoothie Ideas

It’s contains dextromethorphan—that’s the most frequently used active ingredient for controlling coughs—and it is alcohol free.

Whether you’re trying to stay ahead of sickness or it’s already grabbed you, I think this Cara Cara Orange Smoothie is just the thing to add to your regimen. Besides looking appealing, it’s a quick and delicious fix.

To me, the cara cara orange taste is sweet and tangy, a little like grapefruit without the bitterness. They are low acid, so juicy and an excellent source of vitamins A and C, folate, and lycopene.

Cara Cara Orange Smoothie Ingredients

By now everyone knows vitamin C is good for the immune system. Bananas and carrots add more vitamin C as well as a host of other benefits so this light smoothie is packed with good things.

Red nose or not, this smoothie satisfies!
