How to Make Dinosaur Fossils

By  | Last Updated:

It’s dinosaur party week!

A couple of weeks ago, I unofficially crowned that week robot party week, with a series of posts all related to robot parties. (Which included a link to a post about how to carve a watermelon robot. So cool.) It culminated in a post with a round up of 30 robot themed parties. I thought I would do the same and announce that this week is dinosaur party week here on the blog. [See more dinosaur party ideas“] In between our regular posts, I’m going to try and feature some of the best dinosaur party crafts, cakes and DIYs I’ve seen lately. I’ll also have a round up post of 30 dinosaur parties that you are going to love.

Speaking of love, I am absolutely in love with this idea from the blog I Can Teach My Child (these are their photos too!), which says it aims to give parents the tools to be their child’s first teacher. Blogger Janae had the idea of making dinosaur fossils from recycled coffee grounds, cold coffee, salt and flour. And, of course, little dinosaurs to make the footprints. All the step by step instructions are here. In addition to a party activity, I could also see this idea translating onto the dessert table — with firm cookie dough instead of the coffee concoction.

Stephanie is in love with a boy named Sam. He has taught her that it's okay to jump first and look later, to wear a dirty shirt to the park and to decide that today is a good day to take a nap in your rubber boots. She hangs out here blogging at Spaceships and Laser Beams and at our printable party shop on Etsy.
