[Love This!] Homemade Dinosaur Party Treats

By  | Last Updated:

How utterly and entirely boy party awesome is this homemade cake for a dinosaur birthday party? I cannot imagine a boy on earth who would not think that a cake with a working volcano was not the coolest. (We’ll be doing a dessert table this fall using Andrew‘s Prehistoric Party Dinosaur Collection, so I’m going to have to keep this in mind) It’s the crown jewel on a wonderful dinosaur themed birthday party that Dorangela of Two Prince Bakery Theatre threw for her oldest son’s sixth birthday. To top it off , the cake – like the rest of this party – had to be completely, gluten free, casein free, soy free and vegan! Her boys have various food allergies and she has have found a way to make their allergen free food and treats both delicious and beautiful (or totally cool in boy talk).

The menu included dino sandwiches for the kids, wraps for the adults, as well as gluten free pretzels, plantain strips in cones, crudite in individual shot glasses and dinosaur shaped cookies. In addition, these dino dig cups are an awesome idea and a great send-off on the traditional dirt cup dessert. I love that the boys can hunt with their spoons for dinosaur eggs.

And here’s the birthday boy and his proud mommy in front of their gorgeous party spread – not to mention her gorgeous kitchen, which I couldn’t help but notice. 🙂

Be sure to visit Dorangela’s original post for all the details on the party!

Stephanie is in love with a boy named Sam. He has taught her that it's okay to jump first and look later, to wear a dirty shirt to the park and to decide that today is a good day to take a nap in your rubber boots. She hangs out here blogging at Spaceships and Laser Beams and at our printable party shop on Etsy.
