King of Hearts Valentine’s Day Party

By  | Last Updated:

Are you looking for a Valentine party idea that will appeal to the guy in your life? What fellow (big or little) wouldn’t want to be called the King of Hearts?! Newcomers, Tutus and Bowties Events, have conceived of and styled a sweetheart of a theme idea for February 14th. Using printables from Printed Ink, the ladies put together an intimate dessert corner to celebrate all things lovely with family or friends. It’s easy to see why the kids had  a great time at this Valentine’s party with photos captured by Light Writer Photography.

The beautiful stone arches of this setting certainly put you in mind of a castle, but you wouldn’t need such a grandiose venue to make this party work. A black cloth is used as the foundation for a red, black and silver color scheme. A chevron topper pulls the colors together; a tassel garland caps everything off.

A beautiful red roses cake is decorated with fondant hearts and a mini banner that celebrates the occasion. Putting the cake on a white pedestal and surrounding it with black orbs really makes the red color pop! Red and white cake pops are displayed in a silver, heart embellished pail filled with red confetti paper; doesn’t that make them look even more inviting? Macarons and sugar heart cookies are just the right colors for the day, too. Chocolate bars have been wrapped for the party.

Using a piece of art on the dessert table is an effective way to express sentiments and add dimension also; the red “X’s and O’s” stand for kisses and hugs of course—perfect for the occasion!

A seating area has been prepared here, too. Castle turrets and a crown are combined in the table centerpiece. Cupcakes top the turrets; candies brighten the table in their heart dotted cups. Even the mugs are dressed up for the occasion; the chairs wear tulle bows.

boy's valentine party favor boxes

If you are inviting friends over for the 14th, favor boxes will be appreciated when it’s time to go home. Burlap, a mini bunting and shiny ribbon bows effectively fancy up simple white boxes.

Any guy would appreciate being King of Hearts. Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to acknowledge he always resides in yours!
