Using a Thanksgiving themed printable décor package Rebekah designed especially with children in mind, she created a tabletop “experience” any child would love to be a part of.  Rebekah began her brilliant kid-friendly table set-up by covering a child-sized table with brown butcher paper (but any colored paper would work).  Can anything be more economical or child-friendly?  No worries about spills on expensive linens!  Hooray!

Once covered, Rebekah drew small “frames” where each child’s plate and cup should go.  Rebekah shares that many children love to match up shapes, which they can do easily at this table. Once the plates have been added, Rebekah suggests adding a piece of small fruit or a mini pumpkin with a customized printable name tag attached.  Not only does this add color and festiveness to the plates, but it acts as a place card too.  Kids love discovering their own names!  Rebekah chose paper cups for her kid-friendly place settings and also included brightly colored paper straws with themed straw flags—great idea.  Paper cups with straws means the likelihood of spills is considerably reduced.

Centerpieces can make or break a table, and I love Rebekah’s choice.  Again, with kids in mind, Rebekah used a vintage, wood cheese box to display Mason jars full of color coordinating crayons.  Remember that butcher paper table cloth?  Yeah, it just became a giant canvas for coloring!  How cool is that?  Kids can remain occupied for at least minutes on end, adding their own artwork to the décor.

Next, Rebekah added decoration to the chairs to make them festive. This is an easy DIY with printables from Rebekah’s collection, a paper rosette and ribbon.

A final touch Rebekah included on her kid-friendly Thanksgiving table was little baskets filled with treats.  She filled small candy tubes with chocolate balls and tiny berry baskets with yogurt covered pretzels to satisfy restless kids who may need a little sugar bribe.  I love the addition of the cute printable tag! What a sweet favor, perfect for small hands.
