I so love this time of year! It’s wonderful to spend time with friends and family and create memories together. It’s especially wonderful when you can visit with someone you don’t see regularly throughout the year. I have several friends I am able to see when they come in town for Christmas. Their visits are always a joy. This holiday season, I have a double challenge: make my gatherings kid friendly while reducing my workload and stress. With some festive decorations, a little planning and Marie Callender’s pot pies, I am accomplishing my goals!

Cute & Easy Christmas Party Ideas {Marie Callender's Pot Pies + Candy Cane Fudge} #EasyAsPotPie

This weekend, I had the privilege of welcoming friends over for dinner. Since we all have kiddos now, I always focus on making our get togethers family friendly so the kids can enjoy themselves while we visit.

Christmas Party Decorations

Christmas Party Polar Bear Favor

Christmas Party Decoration Ideas

With this in mind, I created a dining table that we could all love. I used a bright red wrapping paper as a “tablecloth” for an easy added punch of color. Two simple felt trees served as centerpieces. Each plate also had it’s own fun polar bear. I used a hole punch to make room for green ribbon, which I tied like a bow. I also added stick on googly eyes. The simple 3D effect delighted the kids. The polar bears had an important job other than just looking cute: they doubled as party favor bags!

Rudolph Reindeer Hot Cocoa Mugs

Mini red pom-poms made the perfect reindeer noses on our mugs. I served hot chocolate with lots of marshmallows in the mugs. Such a delicious treat!

Marie Callender's Pot Pies

Easy Holiday Entertaining Ideas

Our main course was so simple and filling. Marie Callender’s tastes like homemade, so I felt great serving them to guests. Plus, they are the perfect solution when entertaining as I didn’t have to slave away in the kitchen and could enjoy my time with our guests. Marie Callender’s pot pies have a golden flaky crust with homemade gravy mixed with vegetables and all white-meat chicken — all made from scratch. I offered a salad along with our meal. {Notice the cute little red pepper pine trees cut from a mini cookie cutter.} There are also lots of delicious recipe ideas available online, perfect for when you need a little inspiration. I also liked Marie Callender on Facebook so I could hear about ideas and promotions.

Candy Cane Fudge Recipe

After dinner was done, I served candy cane fudge. I made it in the shape of snowflakes thanks to some cute silicone ice cube trays I found. I love shopping at Walmart during the holidays since I can find everything I need — from main course to dessert ingredients — in one store. I am all about saving time!

He has taught her that it’s okay to jump first and look later, to wear a dirty shirt to the park and to decide that today is a good day to take a nap in your rubber boots.
