For a boy who loves all things soccer, there can be no better birthday party idea than playing the game and eating sweet treats with friends! Antoni’s parents set up a backyard field to satisfy the first desire of their nine-year-old. Memories are Sweet satisfied with a soccer-themed dessert table, printable decorations, styling, and photography of the event. Goal scored!

This soccer party dessert table made use of the regular hexagonal pattern to bring the decor together.

The handsome dessert table was eye catching in graphic black and white with green accents. Antoni rightfully received star billing on the focal point banner with soccer’s geometric patterns and food tent cards coordinated with the layout.
The food labels incorporated the hexagonal soccer pattern, and the food was black, white or green.Delicious mini soccer balls on fake grass looked adorable.
A yarn wrapped letter “A” personalized the dessert table where it stood sentry by a pedestal of cookies. Off-cuts of artificial turf added color and texture to the themed display, while guests, AKA team members, were tantalized by the large assortment of candies dressed up in apothecary jars. The candy colors even complement the theme!
Cookies were iced according to the soccer theme, and the birthday boy's age and name.

These delicious chocolate cake soccer balls were hand-painted.
Chocolate mud cake balls looked like miniature soccer balls! The hand-painted cake balls and cookies were the work of Velvetier’s talented dessert artist.

But before the delectable sweets could be devoured, there were other things to attend to. Antoni not only plays soccer himself, he faithfully follows favorite soccer teams and players. Mom and Dad knew that a backyard soccer game would be a hit with Antoni and his friends so they set up a small-scale field, complete with goals and a referee. A spirited game culminated in much enjoyment and heightened appetites. To re-fuel the team, a savory table included homemade bruschetta, a selection of meats and cheeses, and an array of fresh fruit. Antoni’s mom quenched thirsts with several beverages, including lemon and lime spritzers.
Party favors in simple white boxes included a nod to the soccer themed birthday, and a wish from the birthday boy.White and green candies of all varieties were on display for guests to enjoy.
In addition to the main event soccer game, the kids enjoyed a couple auxiliary activities: ten pin bowling – with a soccer ball; keeping a balloon afloat with head-balling. What great ideas! Party guests received soccer balls as prizes and personalized certificates signed by Antoni for each guest’s best play effort of the day. Before going home, team members filled their themed favor boxes with favorite sweet treats.

Soccer is played in over 200 countries and it is considered the world’s most popular sport. As the game stirs passion in young and old alike, you might expect a birthday party based on this theme will be a hit. Antoni and his guests were certainly elated!
