A splash-tastic sign, designed by Swish Printables, welcomes guests and leaves no doubt as to what this party is all about. Inside, a snack table boasts inviting and inspiring decorating ideas. Vibrant garlands, from Fancy and Fold, are a tasteful way to incorporate a crayon box full of colors, all in one place. A splatter-painted table runner, from Cupcake with Character, adds major style to a plain plastic tablecloth and—as a bonus—totally camouflages spills! I can’t say enough about how well plain white serving ware dresses a table and shows off party treats, especially at events full of lots of cheery colors.

A little innovation easily transforms traditional, kid-friendly foods into exiting themed menu items. A cookie cutter shapes PB&J into “Splatter Sandwiches,” and color-coordinating cupcake liners create a bright palette of individual servings of fruit. Delightful paint bucket canisters serve sweet treats; paint splatter cake pops, by Niecey’s Sweets, and paintbrush Rice Krispies Treats, by Sweet U Off Your Feet, stand upright in color-coordinated candies. Tiny artist easels holding the printable menu cards are a great accent.

At an outdoor juice bar, party guests sp”lash” flavors together to create their own special drink. Instead of cups, Denise added chalkboard labels to small plastic bottles, from Pink Picker Party. Guests loved personalizing their drinks with sidewalk chalk. A cloth tablecloth and fabric bunting, mason jar beverage dispensers, and an aluminum tiered serving tray give the table a cute and casual backyard look. Bottled water and more juice boxes are iced in an aluminum tub nearby.

Energized by a light lunch, partygoers enthusiastically began the fun (and “shhh” educational) games that Denise planned. Guests competed to build the tallest tower in Juice Box Jenga, identified letters while playing Splash Ball in darling aprons (from Confetti Couture Events),  and created an awesome piece of art while learning colors at the “Splatter Station”. Partygoers of every age thoroughly enjoyed watching and participating in the creative party activities.

While the paint dried, little artists headed inside for a new cookie decorating idea: guests used Kopy Kake’s food-safe markers to create works of art on picture frame cookies, from Cara Bella Creations by Shauna.

After a full afternoon of fantastic food and fun, guests took home favor bags filled with splatter and splash supplies. Bags included their choice of My First Crayola Crayons, Color Wonder Overwraps, or Crayola Sidewalk Chalk; as well as crayon gummies, squirt guns, bouncy balls, sunglasses, and keychain-sized bottles of sunscreen, from Kate Aspen.

This bold and busy playdate party is full of creative ideas for planning your own splatter paint and splash bash, or even just a cool way to spend a summer afternoon. You can read all the DIY details on Denise’s blog, and see even more of her party planning inspiration on Pinterest.
