All Aboard: Alphabet Train Themed Boy’s 1st Birthday

By  |

Hop on board the party express for this alphabet train themed boy’s 1st birthday. Julie Smigelsky of Tabletop Treats created such a sweet ABC train party to celebrate an important milestone 1st birthday for one adorable little boy.  Using soft blues & greys, Julie kept the decorations, party favors, cupcakes, cake & treats on track by coordinating them with the alphabet train theme.  Her use of custom train printables designed by A Party Studio effectively tied all of the charming choo choo details together.

The highlight of the dessert table was a darling silver train engine chugging its way across the table, pulling 3 decorative train cars filled to the brim with alphabet letters and colorful desserts by Annie’s Creations.  Scrumptious cupcakes were made even more appealing with custom train cupcake toppers.  The muted engineer stripe detailing on both the printables & the fabric is such a fun, understated touch!  Isn’t that smash cake in the last car, cleverly spelling out the birthday boy’s name, perfect for this theme? I love how Julie used the alphabet filled smoke clouds to make her backdrop pop!

Well-thought out desserts are always a clever way to tie in any boy’s birthday party theme. The “wow factor” was definitely achieved through the delicious details of the ABC cake blocks and school house letter “T” sugar cookies, served on the bottom tier of the table.

And what do little mouths munch on while waiting for cake to be served? Boxes of cinnamon letter cookies of course!  Adding different levels to a dessert table like Julie did is a great way to add height and interest to your table without compromising on the variety of treats served or looking too cluttered. You can achieve this look by using boxes covered in wrapping paper or fabric and/or using serving dishes and jars in varying heights.
