A Silly Monster First Birthday Party

By  | Last Updated:

Scaring up some cute birthday fun shouldn’t be hard with these darling silly monster first birthday party ideas by Angelique Jutras, the party-planning mom behind Angy Design. Angy wanted the colors to awaken the senses of the young party guests so she used an amazing palette of bright oranges, greens, blue and yellows. I would say that the colorful decorations, balloons, cake, cupcakes and party favors did just that!

Angy was pleased with how amazed little guests were when they saw the monster birthday themed dessert table. Can you blame them? The colors and printable embellishments, combined with the clever treats, created a remarkable display. Against a backdrop of natural greenery, the vibrant hues of the balloon arrangement really popped.

I love the cakes, created to look like adorable little monsters. The smash cake is perfectly coordinated with the main guest cake. In addition, cupcakes were decked out in custom cupcake toppers. Isn’t that carousel cupcake stand amazing? Glass vessels were filled with a rainbow of candy for nibbling. Monster cake pops with edible eyes were displayed in a domed serving dish and looked too cute to spook, let alone eat!

Also on display were water bottles, costumed in coordinating monster-themed printable beverage wraps. Colored plates, napkins and utensils were neatly displayed. Little details such as this really kick up the styling a notch.

Handmade favors are a wonderful personal touch; the most darling monsters were hand-knit by Angy’s grandmother. In addition, monster medallion embellished guest bags were displayed on a favor table and included hats from Birthday Express and a t-shirt or onesie, depending on the age of the guest. For extra fun, Angy transferred monster clipart onto the shirts.

Of course the monster “scaring” area had to be decorated as well. Angy hung printable monster themed banners and colorful Chinese style lanterns. There were even a few stuffed monsters hung up as decorations.

I’m sure one little fellow had an amazing first birthday! Great job Angy Design!
