A Boy’s First Birthday Football Bash

By  | Last Updated:

A boy’s first birthday is such a special party. I really appreciate being able to see so many boy party themes but first birthdays are especially precious. A baby’s first year is usually exhilarating AND exhausting, so to see all of the mamas’ ideas and decorations is dear; I recognize how much energy it costs to lavish the love and attention on these gatherings. This party was sent to me by Kara, of KCUSTOMABLES, to show how she used party supplies to celebrate her son’s first birthday. Invitations, the dessert table and party food, a double tiered cake and take-home party favors all carried Kara’’s creative stamp; she put together a very boy-handsome and memorable celebration.

Kara introduced her theme with Peyton’s picture on the invitations for party guests. Once family and friends arrived for the event, the “Welcome to Tidd Stadium” placard let guests know they were in for a treat. Kara wanted a sports theme, but wanted the focus to be on her son; hence, the “Go Peyton” pennants. Even big sis had a mention as head cheerleader on the welcome sign–a thoughtful touch to make sure another little one in the family didn’t feel left out.

A mock-up concession stand looked terrific and offered typical game-day fare: hot dogs, pizza, nachos, popcorn, potato chips and candy bars. Adult guests were also offered a non-typical Varsity Blue (rum and blue curacao) beverage!

The dessert table looked festive with desserts in shades of blue and white that included polka-dotted cookies, rocky road brownies, chocolate covered popcorn and white chocolate cake pops. Peyton and big sis were even dressed for the day in customized party outfits.

Peyton had a personalized bib waiting at his seat of honor for that Kodak moment when he dove into the frosting on his own cake. Guests could choose between chocolate or vanilla cake—no bibs necessary! Note the cute banner on the cakes, too. Pint sized pennants, pom poms, mini megaphones and “Go Peyton” buttons multiplied good cheer and ramped up the team-for-Peyton spirit.
