New - Vintage Plane Birthday Dessert Table - Spaceships and Laser Beams

So pleased today to feature a Spaceships and Laser Beams post! You may have already seen these photos on Sweet Designs by Amy Atlas (an amazing blog by an amazing company) but I wanted to feature them here as well for posterity. Catherine designed a wonderful new Vintage Airplane Collection that is the centerpiece of this vintage plane birthday party dessert table. Goodness Bakeshop supplied the amazing vegan coconut cake, vanilla bean cupcakes and they complement the other items on the table that are meant to represent traditional airline food including nuts, cookies and “berverage cart” type drinks.

There are a couple of easy and inexpensive DIYs on this table. They include the cloud backdrop made out of three sheets of bristol board (total cost $3). I just freehanded three sizes of clouds, cut them out and hung them with fishing line. As well, to create clouds on the table, I completely pulled apart cotton balls and then smushed them back together. And, finally, the pretzels are wrapped in maps to create a presentation that’s right on trend (maps are everywhere in party design on Pinterest).
