Boy Bash on a Budget Challenge

Alien Birthday Dessert Table [Boy Bash]

By  |

Every Tuesday, we’re going to be featuring a budget themed dessert table or tablescape from the talented women who have graciously volunteered to take on our Boy Bash on a Budget Challenge. And we’re even going to throw our own work into the ring from time to time and follow the same budget confines. Every participant gets the Spaceships and Laser Beams Collection of their choice + $50 for a dessert table or $20 for a tablescape. They can also use anything they are able beg or borrow, make themselves or already own.

We have a bit of a twist for today’s Boy Bash on a Budget Challenge. Suzie from Project: Party Perfect created this alien brunch invasion for her submission. The party menu included muffins, pancakes, yorgurt parfaits and other brunch appropriate treats. You can hear more about the set-up and how much Suzie spent — in her own words — at the end of the post.

My son is into everything space-related and wants to be an astronaut when he grows up..so this was the perfect theme to have fun with. I made the spaceship with a set of plastic bowls I found at Dollar Tree and trimmed it with ribbon and used mini pom poms for the windows.
What I spent:
Food: $25.93
Silver Bows: $1
Silver Trimmings: $1
Plastic Bowls for the Spaceship: $1
Fabric Runner: $7
Jugs: $8
Total: $43.93

Stephanie is in love with a boy named Sam. He has taught her that it's okay to jump first and look later, to wear a dirty shirt to the park and to decide that today is a good day to take a nap in your rubber boots. She hangs out here blogging at Spaceships and Laser Beams and at our printable party shop on Etsy.
