New – Creating an Easy Birthday Keepsake

By  | Last Updated:

Since we had Sam, I have become much more sentimental. For his birthday, I wanted to create a couple of keepsakes from him and I love the one I am featuring today. Since my little two year old hasn’t yet mastered the concept of making a wish and blowing out the candles yet, we had all of the quests make a wish for him. I, for one, wish I had done this for his first birthday! I used Janelle‘s vintage fishing circle label that we sell in the shop.

Here’s how it looked on the cake. I used a #2 sparkler instead of a candle, which Sam thought was super cool.

Wishes ranged from the sweet to the silly. Here’s just a sampling:

  • Connor wishes Sam will enjoy lots and lots of CANDY!
  • Free education (my husband wrote that, LOL)
  • A year filed of kindness and giving, with friends and family
  • May Sam always have abundant goldfish (whether this relates to food or pets is unknown)
  • A lifetime of adventure
  • An in-ground swimming pool
  • Lots of kisses from mommy (okay, I wrote that one)

Stephanie is in love with a boy named Sam. He has taught her that it's okay to jump first and look later, to wear a dirty shirt to the park and to decide that today is a good day to take a nap in your rubber boots. She hangs out here blogging at Spaceships and Laser Beams and at our printable party shop on Etsy.
