Mike, Sam and I are getting ready to host a big football themed bash in a couple of weeks to celebrate the big game. Before any event, I like to do some planning so I don’t have any last minute surprises. Today I’ll share with you all the great ways you can get ready for a football themed party your guests will love — I promise it’s easy peasy {especially with my free printables} and will have guests cheering your name!

I like to create a central table focus whenever creating a party table. It doesn’t have to be complicated to create a wow factor! In our dining room, I used a football field themed backdrop from our Football Party Collection to create a focal point. A simple wooden table is easily jazzed up with delicious food options for guests to enjoy.

I found darling little tin cans for a dollar a piece. I filled them with treats for the table. I loved that I was able to incorporate the same teal color from the backdrop. Simple black and white striped straws plus printable labels are a great way to dress up items for your table. {You can download these Free Football Printables plus here as well.} I added pops of color by finding yellow sandwich bags for other snacks. I really love the bright color combination.

No matter what decorations you have for your party, food is a must! I never want my guests to leave with empty bellies. While shopping at Walmart this week, I was able to pick up some tasty new snack options to enjoy. Creating portable snacking cups and filling them with tasty options is a great way to please your friends.

What’s in the Cups?

Cheez-It Crunch’d — available in Cheddar Cheese and Hot and Spicy.
Cheez-It Grooves — available in  Zesty Cheddar Ranch, Original Cheddar, and Sharp White Cheddar.
Pringles — available in Original, Sour Cream and Onion, Cheese, Bacon, Cheeseburger plus Tortilla flavors.

You can check out Cheez-It on Facebook and Twitter. Plus, visit Pringles on Facebook and Twitter as well!

To go along with our crunchy chips, I made a super easy onion dip. It’s delicious and incredibly easy… which is perfect if you need to make a quick refill during the event! It’s also a tasty option with fresh chopped veggies.

Easy Onion Dip

  • tub of low fat sour cream
  • package of favorite onion soup mix
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chopped chives

  1. Mix sour cream and soup mix until completely blended.
  2. Fold in chives.
  3. Chill for at least 2 hours.
  4. Serve and enjoy!

To go along with the snacks, I served water bottles wrapped in a fun referee themed label. {You can download it for free here.} If guests will be spending the day at your home, you could easily add grilled meat to your menu as well.

Celebrating the big game can be fun and easy. Your guests will appreciate your hard work to create a fun venue and delicious food for them. And you’ll all love cheering on your favorite team to the big win!
