Keisha, of Cupcake Wishes and Birthday Dreams, had the task of putting together a baseball-themed baby shower party that features two baseball teams because the “parents-to-be” root for the rival teams. Keisha was able to incorporate both team colors into the party supplies with great effect. She also cleverly focused the savory/dessert table on common ground: the concession stand. This lady knows how to find favor.
Keisha used wooden crates, boxes, and even a doll cradle in her table display, on a variety of levels, to keep things visually interesting. Cake stands present cupcakes that bear both team logos. Keisha balanced the blues and reds throughout the table with baseball paraphernalia, miniature pennants, and pom-poms adding relevance to the theme, too. One of our favorite parts of this display is the chalkboard scorekeeper; that score is actually baby Evan’s due date!
Attention is naturally drawn to the highest point over the table. We like that the artwork displaying Evan can serve as nursery decoration, too. Wire baskets, tin pails, and canning jars hold a terrific variety of concession candy. That old baseball staple, peanuts, is served in twine-wrapped canning jars. Popcorn is served in colorful red and blue bags. One of the sweetest parts of the display is the vignette that includes a large wood E, the stripped teddy bear, tiny baby socks, and a baseball-themed baby blanket that contrast nicely with the big mitt, ball, and bat. Guests were sent home with striped favor bags filled with peanuts and a tag that said “Thanks for celebrating our little peanut.”
