Never Think About What to Make for Dinner for the Next Two Months with My Lazy Cooking Bundle
This past weekend, our family threw a retirement party for my mother-in-law. My husband’s sister did the food and my job was the dessert table. As you know, Spaceships and Laser Beams does boy’s parties. Period. So this presented a little bit of a challenge. However, I lucked out in a way because my mother-in-law is retiring from her job at a Canadian postal outlet – and Catherine had just done a vintage plane birthday party collection. I customized the wording and used elements from this collection as well as cupcake wrappers from Nicole’s winter birthday collection and was able to pull it all together.
All of the baked goods were provide by the fabulous Catherine (Goodness Bakeshop) and the dessert menu included orange-basil cake, blueberryshortcake, chocolate-coconut cupcakes, blondies, coconut macaroons, lemon crackle cookies and mini apple pie. We also had rice puddingshots, which were decorated with tiny stars made out of bits of piecrust. It was an easy way to elevate something so simple and it gaveit a little crunch, which was quite nice. I have a few not-before-seen photos below. The fabulous Amy Atlas Events featured this party on their blog – you can see the rest over there.
