Would you believe that a set of old wooden chairs inspired the color palette for this farm-themed birthday party? Blue, orange, yellow, and mint make a lovely color combination, perfect for a farm celebration. Guests got an impressive first peek at the theme and color palette when they received custom invitations and goodies perfectly packaged in kraft-coloring crayon boxes filled with raffia. Jodie included an adorable felt animal mask and mini toy farm animals with custom tags attached. There were even a few treats included for added excitement!
The event space looked amazing. Jodie transformed her mother’s backyard into a rustic, downhome style farm. Weathered fencing paired with a makeshift hay bale-supported table top made a wonderful refreshment set-up. The “farm livin” sign just makes you want to pull up a hay bale and relax. We love Jodie’s use of rustic-style crates, burlap, a wagon wheel, and even an old wooden ladder, for creating an authentic farm atmosphere. She used some of those items to display the refreshments, which was particularly creative. Great stylists always find multiple uses for props and décor.
The array of desserts would make any birthday boy shout “yeehaw”! There were delightful animal cake pops by CJ Sweet Treats, served in mini crates with an “oink, a moo, and a cock-a-doodle-doo”. Just wait to see your guests lineup for sweet confections such as mouthwatering cupcakes with the cutest farm-inspired toppers on a cake stand and darling farm animal sugar cookies made served on burlap embellished frames.
The granddaddy dessert of them all was the adorable, two-tiered cake with cow print and cowboy detailing. The rope and cowboy boots and hat are just precious. Jodie must know how much kids love candy because the table and accompanying display pieces were literally overflowing with candy cups, favor bags, candy ribbons, and other treats to delight every sweet tooth.
There were even custom-wrapped candy bars with the cutest cow print detailing and graphics. No detail was spared as ribbon and coordinating printables dressed each item to impress. Complimentary props and DIY décor livened up the entire space. I love the way custom bunting, metal milk pails, tubs, and even printable elements created a cohesive look that transformed the party into an experience.
No ordinary water was served at this party; it had to be “farm water” with custom wrappers and burlap enhancement. Could the mint cart it was served on be any cuter? The ripped fabric bunting and Mason jar sippers and party straws look terrific. There were so many great farm-friendly activities centered on the birthday boy. Supplies were on hand for kids to plant their own trees. A rock painting station was another fun activity that played on Levi’s love of holding rocks in his sweet little hands.
The highlight of the party surely was the animal farm. Jodie shares that the kids were delighted with the opportunity to actually touch real-life animals. Homemade favors are a sweet way to thank guests for joining a celebration. Jodi put together “farm fresh marmalade” and cookie mix jars with fabric toppers, each sweetly labeled for guests to enjoy long after the party was over. After this farm-themed birthday party, We are sure lots of kids are hoping to return to farm living!
