Never Think About What to Make for Dinner for the Next Two Months with My Lazy Cooking Bundle
Set sail with us on a modern world traveler-themed boy baby shower adventure.
With the help of D & P Celebrations, hostess Missy arranged for a personalized shower for her sister Maria by combining two of Maria’s loves – her sailor husband and photography – into one very unique baby shower.
Guests were invited into a unique shower venue that was decked out in cheerful shades of yellow and blue where they could imagine all of the places the new little boy-to-be would go and the sights he would see as a future adventurer and traveler.
Invitations, festive decorations, gorgeous baby shower cakes and cupcakes and treats all were selected to coordinate for a smooth party voyage.

Planned at a well-lit loft rented by some area photographers, it was the perfect venue to celebrate the impending arrival of Maria’s sweet little one.
Colorful poms and tablecloths added a vibrant pop of color against white walls.
Classic white cake stands and serving dishes housed delicious treats, including this absolutely brilliant 3-tiered cake (spiced chai with salted caramel icing AND mocha latte with buttercream icing!).
The fondant camera and anchor detailing paired nicely to connect the theme.
The printable banner helped reflect the party theme and tie the color scheme together perfectly.
One of the most impressive aspects of this shower was the menu!. Mouthwatering dishes such as bacon and gruyere mac and cheese, Hawaiian chicken salad with lettuce wraps, Caprese crostinis and several salad varieties were served.
Our egg salad sandwich would also be fantastic and an event like this.
Great food is the hallmark of any wonderful event. Traditional favorites (like Baby Word Scramble) mixed with unique baby shower games to add to the enjoyment of this celebration.
Missy took head shots of the parents-to-be, cut the pictures in strips and then had guests arrange their version of what baby would look like.
You can imagine the hysterical results!
Guests didn’t leave empty handed. Custom favor boxes in a yellow chevron pattern were dressed up with favor tags and filled with a variety of both practical and delicious gifts. For the sweet tooth, yummy petite meringues were included.
Elastic hair ties in the party colors filled the useful gift role. Attendees also got to choose a nail polish color of their liking to add to their gift box.
Such fun parting gifts!
What a lovely start to baby’s (and Maria’s new motherhood) adventure!
