I truly love a Harry Potter boy’s birthday party! As a huge Harry Potter fan, it seems like a natural choice for a great birthday party theme!

I was excited to see this fantastic party from Jennifer at Sweeten Your Day Events. She has many terrific ideas from beginning to end, to make this birthday party magical.

Guests are invited to this Harry Potter themed party with a Hogwarts acceptance letter signed by Professor McGonagall herself. I love that Jennifer used a classic Harry Potter font for the letter which makes it look very authentic.

When arriving, you’ll feel like you’re stepping right into Harry Potter’s world by visiting Diagon Alley.

I love the way the doorway has been decorated, with touches including Hedwig in a cage, a broomstick, and a brick wall to step through. Make sure to count the right bricks to open the door!

You can visit the sorting hat as well to make sure you’re assigned a house. Jennifer has made sure that all the house crests are proudly displayed, with matching supplies for guests to wear, too.

Clever Harry Potter themed party games include some Defense Against the Dark Arts practice. Guests can work on their patronus charm against a dementor. {Easily made from a large, black trash bag!}

Jennifer adds a great touch with an authentic looking sign announcing the game as well. Guests can also practice their knowledge of herbology by potting some fanged geraniums!

Not only are there games, but guests can also “shop”. You can see the great books and feather quills available at Flourish & Blotts. The sign is fantastic!

You’ll also find quality quidditch supplies including robes and brooms — don’t forget your goggles.

Make sure to grab a cauldron to store all your party time treats inside as well. One of my favorite touches are the forbidden Weasley wands. The potions look so real. The labels are each beautiful and ornate.

Treats include licorice wands and chocolate frogs. Guests can try to collect all the Harry Potter characters, just like Ron does in The Sorcerer’s Stone.
