Guests were invited to join Hudson and his family for a joyful fiesta. The colorful invitation, complete with maracas and a sombrero, set the tone for a colorful celebration. Dressing the part was encouraged; which I love!
With a May fifth birthday, there is a no more fitting way to celebrate a little boy than with a Cinco de Mayo theme, but these vibrant colors and festive decorations can work at any party. From Mexican-style paper flags strung overhead, to bright striped blankets used as tablecloths, to eye-catching paper fans, this party had an array of jubilant decorations worth copying.
Dining tables were simply beautiful with the serape blanket table coverings. Gorgeous floral arrangements were arranged in blue glass vases and bottles which paired nicely with painted lanterns and cactus as table centerpieces.
A taco bar was designed for the main course. A mini chalkboard announced some of the offerings: Mexican corn pops, chicken taquitos, jalapeño poppers, bean salad and homemade chips. The food was arranged in attractive serving bowls with a variety of fresh toppings. The front of the table was accented with a custom banner and vivid paper fans.
An incredible dessert table stole the show! I love the use of the cactus balloons and Latin themed décor paired with custom items like the name banner and the piñatas are a great décor addition that promise more party merriment.
The highlight of the dessert table was the incredible sombrero cake. The tiny cactus cake was a close second. The sombrero pops were another adorable addition that made perfect party favors for guests.
For entertainment, a Cinco de Mayo themed birthday party would have to have a piñata. Everyone has fun when those surprises rain down!
If the party wasn’t cute enough already, the tiny guest of honor looked absolutely adorable in his sombrero and poncho. According to his mom, Hudson’s favorites of the day included eating cake and running around in the park where the party was held. Sounds like a birthday boy!
This was one awesome first birthday fiesta! Hopefully mother and child enjoyed a siesta after all of the party planning and fun!
