A boy’s birthday pool party idea sounds lovely after all of the cold and snow we’ve been having here, but don’t get too relaxed ’cause THERE’S A SHARK in there!
Liezl, of Zelicious, celebrated her boy’s birthday pool party with a shark theme. With a grinning shark mugging on everything from the invitation to the decorations and even on the favor bags, the kids were sure to think happy thoughts about swimming with a shark (wish I’d never seen Jaws!).

There’s no doubt about who is being celebrated at this party; several items were personalized with Oscar’s name. I bet the birthday boy enjoyed that! A giant shark and his toothsome smile preside over the dessert table; there’s a lot to smile about here.
Liezl used restive shades of ocean blue; a fish net draped over the table edge is a nice touch.
Drink bottles in the shape of a shark serve as decorations and as take-home prizes; I love it when supplies can serve dual purposes like that.
The cute favor bags hold swim goggles for each of the kidsanother two-for-one idea! Large apothecary jars in the center of the table hold gummy sharks and an entire school of sharks seemingly swim around the twin pedestals; clever cupcake design.
The chocolate macarons are by The Dessert Parlour. Darling personalized cookies, by Petite Cookies, carry Oscars name, age and an image of The Shark.
All of the other menu items, including an ice cream cake, were made by family and friends: vanilla fin cupcakes; jelly cups (aka Jello, with personalized spoons); chocolate rum balls; chocolate passion fruit cake; fruit salad; mango mousse; and hazelnut mousse.
In addition to lots of fun swim time, the kids were offered themed coloring pages, too.
