Review RecipeA Boy’s Fireman Birthday Adventure
Table of Contents
Cool party or hot stuff? This boy’s fireman birthday party is both! Lindsey, mom of birthday boy Ryker, took off with the fireman theme idea and created a fun celebration that included fire safety education, too.
Our very own Fire Truck Birthday Collection cupcake wraps were used, plus invitations and bottle wraps from Modern Moment Designs. Lindsey searched out and created all other party supplies.
She crafted decorations, and with some help from her mom, baked the cake, cupcakes and other party treats for the dessert table. Look at these pictures and be inspired!

Party guests were welcomed with a happy birthday chalkboard display that tied in with the chalkboard style party invitations. Ryker’s pint sized boots are stationed next to grandpa’s real firefighting gear (Ryker’s grandpa is a retired Fire Captain with the Memphis Fire Department) — so sweet!
Caution tape encircled the “hot spot” dessert table which held the assortment of homemade treats, all done in shades of yellow, orange and red flames.
I am always in awe of women who can make such darling cakes (sadly, cake decorating isn’t one of my skills-maybe I’ll learn someday!).
This fire truck cake has lots of cute details; note the badge, the tiny ladder leading up to the #3, and the miniature fire hydrant. On the table in front of the cake is Grandpa’s helmet.
A great cupcake tower features desserts using our very own Spaceships and Laser Beams cupcake wrappers: with flame topped buildings; red lights top the fire trucks and the #3 is for the birthday being celebrated. There are orange sugared cookies and marshmallow pops.
Buckets of pretzel “matches” go perfectly with this theme. Even the fruit tray is in shades of red! After filling up their plates, the guests moved outside where a party table was waiting.
Fireman hats and crazy straw drink bottles serve as fun décor and kids are happy to be able to take them home after the party.
I love Lindsey’s idea of Fire Fighter Training. The stop, drop and roll station is a fun activity, but kids also learned what to do in the event of a fire. You know the kids had a terrific time learning how to use their personal fire extinguishers, too! I can imagine they were over the moon when the real fire trucks got there!
At the end of the party, the little guests also received mini fire hydrants with a “thank you for coming to save the day” from Ryker. What an awesome way to celebrate a third birthday! Good food, friends and fun learning activities make special memories for everyone!
