A beach-themed birthday party might not seem like an unusual idea but you can create one no matter where you live. That fact didn’t stymie mom and party planner Adele, of Dizzy Dinos Party Printables. She made a backyard beach bash for her son’s third birthday using beachy blues, greens, and colorful decorations for the invitation, cake, and favors. An unexpected party theme added to the fun!

A determined mama can make magic. Adele certainly delighted the birthday boy and his guests with their personal backyard beach full of treats and satisfying entertainment. We really like the multi-level favor and dessert table Adele created, especially since it is just the right height for excited young guests. The delightful beach-themed printables she made to pull everything together. The highest tier is decorated with a bright banner confirming Liam is the honored guest and there is a collection of sea creatures and items that reference the beach.

Adele made all of the paper embellishments from purchased clip art and her Silhouette Cameo. Cupcakes and menu selections are topped with mini, vibrant sea creatures, party favor bags are personalized for each guest, and juice bottle labels repeat the invitation image. The sweet lemon birthday cake with a mini bunting is one of Adele’s creations, too. The glass pedestal, starfish, and fish net add to the presentation. For quick customization on the juice bottles, Adele used colored duct tape and affixed her beach medallions; clever!

In addition to the birthday cake and cupcakes, guests were served savory mince pies, cheese, spinach muffins, and pecan pie. Buckets of popcorn and Smarties in little shovels were offered, too, plus a choice of several beverages. Young guests are typically full of energy so this backyard with a sand pit, jungle gym, trampoline, and tot-sized, ride-on vehicles, had lots to offer.

Adele also engaged the little ones with coloring and crafts. She decorated and personalized plastic tubs but guests made and attached their own chenille handles so they could play with their buckets in the sand. She had colorful cardstock fish ready so kids could “go fishing” with a magnetized pole. After a satisfying afternoon at the beach, guests were given a party favor bag full of sweets and their own sea creature to “grow” at home. What a great way to celebrate a summer or winter birthday!
