The 3-Minute Lunch with Sandwich Bros.
Today’s delicious meal idea is brought to you by Sandwich Bros. of Wisconsin™. All ideas are my own.
I’m loving working from home, though I haven’t quite managed the balance yet. If you’ve ever worked from home, you know what I mean. It’s harder to forget about dust bunnies and dirty dishes and the laundry pile when they’re in your “office”. It’s also so easy to lose track of time when there are projects and deadlines and promises to keep — and no coworkers interrupting you for a chat! I don’t know how many times I have looked at the clock and realized it’s 2:30pm and I haven’t had a proper lunch. So imagine my pleasure when I was invited to try some products from Sandwich Bros.™. They are a quick lunch option and they actually taste REALLY good! Best of all, they helped me make a lunch I enjoyed in under three minutes so I could finish my work before I had to pick up Sam from school.
When I’m hungry and without a plan for lunch, it’s very easy to grab something like a cupcake or cookie I’ve just made and photographed instead of an actual meal (not to mention my weakness for carbs). Can’t do that. My whole goal in blogging full time is to try and free up time and break bad habits.
Ever heard of Sandwich Bros. of Wisconsin? It’s not one of those huge, multinational companies. It was really founded by two brothers and Sandwich Bros. is part of their family owned, family values-based business, Kangaroo Brands.
Sandwich Bros. offers Angus Cheeseburgers, Gyro Sliders, Veggie Burgers and Chicken Melts. I chose the chicken and cheese sandwich. It’s 100% white chicken breast that’s been lightly seasoned and topped with real cheese and tucked into a delicious flatbread pocket, which is baked fresh daily. Just like their advertising says, it is really tasty!
Handhelds get a gold star from me—quick and convenient. Younger kids would probably find a single serving to be enough (and it’s my preference too) and always hungry teens and adults might want to double up. I noticed the chicken and cheese sandwiches are available in singles, 4 count, 6 count and 12 count packages so that’s great for stocking the freezer. I can see these sandwiches being a good option for an easy, quick and satisfying meal on busy school nights too.
The pocket sandwiches heat up quickly. In fact, I made an iceberg lettuce salad and had the whole meal ready in under three minutes! While the sandwich was heating, I removed the outer layers from the lettuce head and cut it into quarters. I topped it with a creamy avocado and cilantro dressing and added fresh pomegranate seeds. Done and delicious! The salad wedge was fresh and hearty and the protein from the chicken melt really satisfied.
