Recipe: How to Make Candy Bacon
Candy Bacon. I’m pretty sure that this recipe could be filed under wrong. But I believe it is a case that a little goes a long way. Rather than a whole bowl full, I plan on now using my new found bacon candy making skills to use them as a very small garnish on top of maple cupcakes. I’ll be sure to photograph the results!
Ingredients for Making Candy Bacon
1 Pound Bacon
1 Cup Brown Sugar
1 Tablespoon Cinnamon
2 Teaspoon Nutmeg
Instructions for Making Candy Bacon
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In small bowl mix together brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg and set aside. You can use whole pieces of bacon but I prefer to slice mine into 1 inch pieces. It cooks quicker and is better for snacking. Slice bacon as desired dipping each piece in the sugar mixture coating each side. Place on baking sheet covered with aluminum foil. Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until crispy. Allow to cool and enjoy as a garnish on maple or cream cheese cupcakes!
