With all of the sunshine, fresh produce and outdoor activities that happen in summer, healthy choices seem a little easier to me. Knowing that the transition to cooler weather isnt too far away, I have been mindful of having a plan in place this year so I dont fall into bad habits. In the past, when the thermometer dropped, I have often found myself wanting to stay cocooned inside once I got home while I reached for comfort foods. Since Ive made the shift to full-time blogging, I feel like I am almost redesigning my life. I am determined to remain mindful of healthy choices so I can be the best version of me. Since August is Health Awareness Month it seems like a super time to be making some plans.
Mike is a runner so hes great inspiration for exercise, although Id rather walk than runhey, walking counts! Sams Club has some super cute exercise clothes (and exercise equipment) and all sorts of things that support a healthy lifestyle. They carry an awesome selection of produce and frozen options that make it easy to eat healthy, quickly.
Sams Club also offers their own Sams Club Healthy Living Made Simple magazine. You can learn healthy life lessons in articles that feature names and faces youll recognize. Find tips on nutrition and staying fit as well as insight on specific health-conscious topics. I really like their superfood spotlight. A recent piece on coconut talks about its benefits: rich in B vitamins, minerals and trace elements, supports immune functions, and acts as an anti-inflammatory agent. And this interesting tidbit: Coconut waters electrolyte composition is almost identical to human blood plasma and was used during WWII as an IV drip. Who knew?! Makes me want to eat more coconut!
These are great eaten as is, or served over a dollop of whipped cream and lightly drizzled in caramel sauce.
