Game Night + Nutella Poke Cake Recipe
I have received compensation for this post, however all thoughts are my own.
Family time is precious in our home. I love doing things with all three of my boys — but I especially love time together with my oldest. Jorryn is seven years older than Zane and eight years older than Shay. He easily remembers what it felt like to be an “only”. While he adores his brothers — and is probably the world’s best big brother ever — I know he loves the one-on-one time with mom and dad as well. We make a special effort to have regular “dates” plus do movies, game nights and projects around the house when little brothers are in bed.
Jorryn is about to turn 11, so I think more and more often of his upcoming adulthood. I know how fast these first 11 years have gone by, so I know the next seven will really go quickly. We often talk about what he would like to do as an adult and what his goals are. I love hearing what he is thinking and imagining.
On Monday night, Domingo was at work and the littles were in bed, so it was game time for Jorryn and mama! We had The Game of Life to play plus a yummy treat fresh out of the kitchen. All the ingredients for a perfect night!
The Game of Life has been encouraging kids to dream about their future since 1960. Hasbro has recently unveiled an updated version of the game which features brand new career cards. You’ll now find Singer, Secret Agent, Veterinarian, Teacher, Doctor, Professional Athlete, Scientist, Fashion Designer, Lawyer, Inventor, Chef, Race Car Driver, Dancer, Police Officer, Firefighter and Video Game Designer while playing. Game night is a great way to get parents and kids communicating. The Game of Life can inspire some great conversations about life and goals in a fun way.
The Game of Life featuring brand new Career Cards is available on shelves now! It retails for $19.99 and can be enjoyed by 2-4 players, ages 8 and older. You’ll find it at most major retailers nationwide and at HasbroToyShop.com. Be sure to follow Hasbro Gaming on Facebook and @HasbroNews on Twitter.
Another great way to show your kids what real life is like is the upcoming take your sons and daughters to work day” on April 23. Jorryn actually goes to work with me every Thursday to volunteer at our local food pantry that our church runs. It’s a great opportunity for him to learn how one person can make a big impact in their community. I love the real life experience for him and the sense of accomplishment he enjoys.
