Reading books with my Dad is one of my earliest happy memories. My Dad was a school teacher and reading was/is very important to him. I recognize now that I greatly benefited from his educational mindset. The significance of those reading sessions stuck with me, too. I began reading to my Sam while he was still tiny and we still enjoy our daily story time.
Its so important for kids to have strong reading skills. I recognize that not every family has the luxury of being able to buy shelves of books, so literacy programs are one of the charitable efforts I support. Here at Spaceships and Laser Beams, we donate a portion of every sale of our printable party collections to a Books for Boys program. You better believe I was happy when I learned of Kelloggs Scholastic book offer!
Right now, you can receive a free book from specially marked Kellogg product purchases made between 7/21/15 and 9/11/15; one Kelloggs product equals one free, full-length Scholastic book. Each person can redeem up to 30 books! There are 80 book titles available, suitable for beginning readers through teens. You can build your own library and donate to help others build theirs.

Total aside: did you know you can substitute Fruit Loops in the iconic Rice Krispie® treat recipe? Add a few colorful sprinkles and you have a great snack that looks like a party waiting to happen!
