After months of cold and snow, I’m thinking spring! With Easter only a few weeks away, I’m getting ready for our family to celebrate. This year, I’m using simple ideas and easy to make desserts for Easter. With pops of fresh colors, this party is refreshing to these winter-weary eyes.

For our get together with friends, I’m using our regular dining table, moved towards our front picture window for lots of light. I’ve made it the focal point for the party and we’ll be using it as a buffet table.

Easter Party

I picked a neutral, floral table cloth with simple, striped cloth napkins at each place setting. Sam was excited to help me dye eggs blue, white and pink to use on the table. We placed two eggs at each seat.

The centerpiece is a moss covered wreath wrapped with a burlap bow with a bowl filled with dyed eggs. Plain white eggs nest in wooden and blue ceramic bowls around the table. Vintage white, ceramic rabbits with ribbons tied around their necks hop around the table. Two mossy green cupcake platters display the Easter pudding cups that are the star of the show.

Snack Pack Pudding Cups at Walmart

While shopping at Walmart over the weekend, Sam requested Snack Pack pudding cups. We chose both chocolate and vanilla pudding cups. I’m digging their new easy open lids, plus the classic great taste that we love. Each snack pack also contains the same amount of calcium as an 8-ounce glass of milk. I knew I could turn them into a fun and easy to make dessert that would look great on our party table. This simple idea can be easily replicated even for a large party. They are very cute, if I do say so myself!

Ingredients

  • Snack Pack Pudding Cups
  • Large marshmallows
  • Pink icing {the decorating kind found in the baking aisle}
  • Nilla Wafers

Method — Vanilla Pudding Cups

  1. On the Nilla Wafers, use the pink icing to create little bunny feet. Then carefully place two cookies next to each other in the vanilla pudding cup.

Method — Chocolate Pudding Cups

  1. For the chocolate pudding cups, cut a large marshmallow in half. Leave one half intact and then cut the other half in half again.
  2. Use the pink icing to create feet on the two pieces and then pull off a small piece of marshmallow for the tail from the underside of the intact half.
  3. Take the half marshmallow and place it, cut side down in the pudding cup — this is the bunny’s body.
  4. Next, place the “feet” pieces and place the little nub as the tail. Voila! A bunny digging in the dirt.

These pudding cups are easy, super cute and a delicious party food treat that your guests will all enjoy this Easter!
