With my side of the family living in Newfoundland, there are no quick trips to Grandma’s house. Over the past two weeks Sam and I have spent more than 45 hours in the car, making the trek. So worth it. So hectic!  I love getting to be with family. I appreciate all the in-between connections technology affords but there’s nothing like real face time.

We’re back home now and I’m so glad for some down time before the back-to-school push begins. Once August hits it seems like there are only a couple of weeks of summer left. School prep takes up a lot of the end-of-the-season at our house. I’m trying to push those thoughts away but I’m already thinking about it!

Quaker Real Medleys

One of the things that’s been on my mind is how to convince Sam that he’s hungry first thing in the morning—because he usually isn’t. And neither am I. During summer break that isn’t an issue but when we’re trying to get out the door during school season, it is. So I’ve been looking for ideas. I found something new and it looks like it could make a difference in our morning routine. There’s been nothing like this before. It’s a granola, fruit and yogurt combo, all in a single serve cup and…it’s shelf-stable. That means you can keep it in the cupboard, a lunchbox or a backpack. When you’re ready to nosh, just add cold milk, stir and eat! Crunchy. Cool. Yum.  It’s Quaker® Real Medleys® Yogurt Cups.

Quaker Real Medleys at Walmart

When I saw the Quakers Real Medley at Walmart, it caught my attention. I really like the convenience of this idea for on-the-go breakfasts and snacks. Since we’re not usually big breakfast eaters, products like this that can travel with you and wait until you really want it are awesome. Even with just a half cup of skim milk added, you’ve got a satisfying and delicious breakfast that contains 25 grams of whole grains and 10 grams of protein. There are three flavor combinations: Apple Cinnamon, Raspberry Pecan and Strawberry Almond.

By mid-morning I’m ready for an extra shot of energy (hmm…part of the no-morning appetite syndrome?). A few bites of this yogurt and a few bites of my Double Chocolate Mango Banana Bread sound like a great pick-me-up!

He has taught her that it's okay to jump first and look later, to wear a dirty shirt to the park and to decide that today is a good day to take a nap in your rubber boots.
