I am convinced there is nothing better than sunshine! After a grueling long winter, trading in bulky coats for light sweaters is divine. With the spring weather around the corner, I’m looking forward to days spent outside with Sam and the long Easter weekend ahead.
As a little girl, Easter meant a new dress for church, a hunt for chocolate bunnies around the house and a big family meal. I cherish these memories and love building new memories with Sam each year. This year, we’re having monkey toast with Gay Lea’s Spreadables for our Easter morning breakfast. We need all the energy we can get for our busy afternoon of Easter egg hunts in the back yard with friends!
Gay Lea products go great with all the new fresh produce available this time of year. Their spreadables butter is made with unsaturated canola oil so that it easily spreads and won’t tear your bread. There are no preservatives and it’s a great source of Omega 3. It also comes in three flavors — regular, light and cinnamon and brown sugar — making it the perfect addition to any meal.
To make this fun toast, I found a dutch crunch bread at the store. Any bread that has risen out of the loaf pan will work. You need those ridges for the monkey cheeks!
Toast on the lightest setting of your toaster.
Next, spread on Gay Lea’s Spreadable Cinnamon and Brown Sugar Butter.
Slice a banana. Add two larger pieces for ears and two smaller pieces for eyes.
Finally, add a four raisins — two for pupils and two for the nose.
Then, enjoy! We had a great time munching on this fun monkey toast and I know it will become a regular treat in our home.
While you’re enjoying your toast, take a moment to enter to win Gay Lea’s awesome prize package available this month. They’re giving away Waring Pro Double Belgian-Waffle Maker valued at $190 for one lucky reader. Just use the Rafflecopter form below to enter.
