I love any reason to host a party–especially a party that involves delicious Mexican food! With Cinco de Mayo coming up next week, I wanted to share my ideas for hosting a fun themed party. A terrific gathering doesn’t have to be complicated to be special. These ideas are easy to execute and will deliver big flavor your guests will love!
This weekend while shopping at Walmart, I picked up Delimex Taquitos and Tamales. They are a quick addition to a menu and that means you can serve delicious, authentic flavor to guests without spending all of your time in the kitchen. Pair the Delimex Taquitos with my delicious homemade guacamole dip–you’ll have a sure fire win on your hands.
Easy Guacamole Dip Recipe
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 ripe avocados
- juice from 1 lime
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
- Blend first four ingredients together.
- Fold in cilantro.
This dip is amazing with taquitos or chips.
To keep the theme going, choose bright decorations to make the atmosphere festive. By using tape sections on a large, colorful vase, flowers are easy to arrange and the bouquet appears fuller. Just use scotch tape, sticky side down, to create sections on a large vase and then place your flowers in each section. I included yellow and red daisies in a mixed bouquet for my display. I’m loving the fresh colors!
Pops of color in the serving dishes and a bowl of peppers add to the party feel. We eat with our eyes first and it’s important to give a great impression! The entire table is easy to pull together and is guaranteed to make guests feel right at home. The bright colors and bold flavors are the perfect way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo.
