Cheesy Chicken Strips
Weve been compensated for participating in this campaign, but all opinions about boys and back-to-school and eating Tyson® Crispy Chicken Strips are my own.
Are you getting ready for back-to-school at your house? We are. Ever since I was old enough to have an opinion, the beginning of school season has always seemed like the REAL beginning of a new year, no matter that the calendar says September instead of January. Theres always excitement about the new experiences, friends and teachers that come with each grade. Throw in new clothes plus all those cool markers and notebooksgood stuff!
Mom stuff in getting ready for back-to-school includes buying all those new clothes and cool supplies plus coming up with ideas for healthy snacks and meals to keep everyone fueled for the upcoming busy schedule. How many trips to Walmart can a mom make in a week? Ill have to let you know my final count on that one!
This week one of our trips entailed looking for menu ideas that will be quick and satisfying. My boys, especially Jorryn, love Tyson® chicken products: Tyson® Crispy Chicken Strips, Tyson® Fun Nuggets and Tyson® Chicken Nuggets. I told Jorryn Im going to start checking to see if hes grown feathers, he eats them so frequently.
I like the all-white meat, 100% natural ingredients and simple prep that Tyson® offers, plus their Tyson Project A+ TM program is a good way to support your school. All you have to do is clip and collect the Tyson Project A+ TM labels from participating Tyson® packages. Each Tyson® label is worth 24¢ to the school of your choice. Great taste, easy prep and making a difference for your childs school? Win-win-win!
Although my guys seem to like the Tyson® Crispy Chicken Strips any way I serve them (they also make great swords according to some young men I know), I like to switch up the taste with simple add-ons. This is what I do for Cheesy Chicken Strips:
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/3 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons mayo
- 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon buttermilk
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- Mix together. When chicken strips have cooked halfway according to package directions, cover the chicken strips with the cheese mixture, return to oven (or microwave) and finish baking.
- Stir until well combined.
This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Tyson. The opinions and text are all mine.
