Summer is flying off the calendar quicker than I can catch it! This has been an awesome season. Sam has been a delight at every age but this summer has been special. He is so much fun and I love his imagination. I didnt think it was possible, but it seems I fall more in love with that kid every day! Like everyone else, were gearing up for back-to-school, but Im determined to pack as much fun as possible into the rest of August.
We had an impromptu party with several good friends and their kids last week. It was one of those times when you didnt want to stop talking to prepare a meal, so we popped by Walmart to pick up their Marketside Pizza Meal, Coca-Cola for the adults and juice for the kids. It worked out great and tasted delicious. I also picked up the ingredients to make my Hawaiian quick dip for the cheese pizza. Its one of my favorite flavors and it made the meal a little more special. Everybody liked it.
Walmart has several Marketside products that help you put together quick meals. It seems like every season is a busy season anymore and you know once the school and sports activities begin, it will just get busier. Being able to pair fresh, ready-made options with a couple of your favorite sides is a real help. You can only eat so many drive-thru meals! Besides the Pizza Meals, you can pick up options like their Rotisserie Chicken Meal or Deli Sandwich Meals. Just look for their Marketside Effortless Meal signage and youll find some great ideas for quick and easy meals.
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 3 tablespoons mayo
- 3 teaspoons buttermilk
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 4 slices cooked bacon, chopped
- 1 ring of pineapple about 1/4″ thick, chopped
- Combine sour cream, mayo and buttermilk until well mixed. Fold in bacon, pineapple and garlic. Add salt to taste. This dip tastes best when it can “sit” in the fridge for a couple of hours to let the flavors set.
