Jungle Safari Themed First Birthday Party

By  | Last Updated:

This boy’s first birthday party is something to ROAR about! It’s a jungle safari party and it’s full of color; it’s cute; it’s clever! Wait ‘til you see the decorations that Australia’s Marabous used to establish the jungle adventure theme. Lots of ideas culminate in an especially fanciful celebration. Party supplies such as invitations, decorations, and guest and dessert tables are perfectly coordinated to produce a lively visual treat. Be sure to scrutinize the centerpiece cake; it’s a work of art! The dessert table sure catches my attention. With a bamboo backdrop and paper mache animals roaming the table, the jungle theme is immediately established.

The three layer tower cake sports fondant jungle animals between the layers, with the king of the jungle happily surveying his birthday kingdom from the top. Notice “John” is featured in animal print (!) on the middle layer.

What to serve at a jungle party? Well, gourmet candy apples on log pedestals are dressed in tiger-like stripes. Chocolate bars are custom wrapped in safari prints. Jungle animal images appear in cake pops, cupcakes and cookies, too. Other sweet treats include: Elephant Chews (caramel corn); Rocks (chocolate candy); Straw Stacks (toasted coconut covered marshmallows); Zebra Stripes (fudge); Pride Rock (French macaron towers); and Tribal Sticks (chocolate coated pretzels).

None of the guest tables are left undecorated, either. Orange table runners add a lot of zing to the animal print table service. I like the additional texture of the table centerpieces and the greenery arrangement is a nod to jungle flora. I think the themed medallions and miniature stuffed animals contribute a lot of appeal to the package.

Animal print lanterns add a lot of “wow” too. The kids’ guest tables coordinate with the adult versions. Table service is not identical, but it is complimentary—nice touch! Jungle juice is at the ready and all dressed up in themed jungle wraps. Each chair holds a kids’ safari hat, the wearing of which must have provided many a photo op! When they tire of hopping in the jungle themed jump castle, young guests can make noise…err…music. Jungle print-covered cushions surround a trio of drums for making African music; animal print maracas and additional instruments keep young guests busy. “It’s a jungle out there” but it’s a great birthday party in here! I like the fun sense of adventure that this jungle safari theme captures. Marabous has done a marvelous job creating a memorable first birthday for a very fortunate little guy.
