Calling All Super Heroes: A Boy’s Super Hero Birthday Party

By  | Last Updated:

A boy’s super hero birthday party theme was the perfect choice for an avid Captain America fan! When Feri Ibrahim, of Oh Feri – Party and Event Styling, was approached by a lovely client to style a memorable 5th birthday party for her son, pinpointing the perfect theme was easy!  Feri chose to keep the theme ideas more simplistic, letting custom printable decorations and an exquisite array of character desserts be the stars of the dessert table. Photographer David Chandra shot the darling event, styled and executed perfectly by Feri.

You will notice MillyBoo Designs throughout the party styling, including two oversized backdrops which do an amazing job anchoring the dessert and beverage tables. Even the custom food labels and candy bar wrappers bring in pop art style. The comic book hero edge helps establish the look and feel of the entire party.

I love the simple black sawhorse style table used to hold the desserts.  By going with an understated table design, the desserts were given center stage.  Feri shares that they were privileged to work with some of the best dessert makers in the industry.  You can’t miss the attention to detail on each cupcake, cake pop and cookie!

The gorgeous birthday cake and cupcakes, from Finesse Cakes by Ingrid, are show stoppers!  I love the fondant cityscape incorporated on the bottom tier of the cake and how it is repeated in the cupcake wrapper design.

Jars were filled with additional sweet options like marshmallows and rock candy, made more enticing with custom labels and ribbon.  They looked especially appealing set on top of the painted risers.
Candy bars in themed, printed wrappers were another wonderful dessert table offering.

The beverage table was equally impressive. Established in front of a large, printable cityscape sign was the reminder that “even superheroes get thirsty”!  To quench little hero thirst in a big way, Feri provided custom wrapped juice and water bottles.  Colorful cups and additional juice were on stand-by for happy kids who needed those endless refills!

For entertainment, the kids enjoyed playing party games with a Captain America Superhero character—talk about firing up childhood imaginations! The kids must have been thrilled!

Filled with yummy desserts and birthday adventure, little guests received superhero favor bags as they flew out the door after a satisfying, action-packed, colorful afternoon!
