[Boy Party] Mad Science Birthday Party

By  | Last Updated:

When Hazel of the blog Hazel Loves Design sent me photos of the dessert table she created for her son’s owl themed first birthday party, she said “Super proud of myself, thinking it is pretty good for an amateur!” I have to say that I agree completely, I think she did a fantastic job. I am particularly liking the blue and aqua color scheme as it brings a sweetness to the woodland theme. (It also reminds me a little of how Catherine used a bright color palette for our own owl collection.) More photos after the jump!

The kids’ grandmother made the entire periodic table out of sugar cookies and their Aunt Jane made their smash cakes and cupcakes.  The cupcakes were filled with green “slime” (green tinted pudding) and topped with an atom made from white chocolate and mini-M&Ms.

The kids were all given plastic lab goggles and test tubes filled with candy to take home.

Stephanie is in love with a boy named Sam. He has taught her that it's okay to jump first and look later, to wear a dirty shirt to the park and to decide that today is a good day to take a nap in your rubber boots. She hangs out here blogging at Spaceships and Laser Beams and at our printable party shop on Etsy.
