Boy-Girl Siblings Beautiful Beach Birthday Party

By  | Last Updated:

This beach birthday party—so gorgeous and airy, I can practically feel the sea breeze in my hair—is  another example of how perfectly stunning a photographer-styled event can be. Andelle, of Andelle Schenach Photography, designed this party for her little ones, to celebrate Tristan’s 5th and Tayla’s 2nd birthdays. She handled every aspect, right down to the beach-themed food, decorations, party favors, and—of course—photography. A soft white palette with neutral accents has never looked so fresh and inviting. See how she dressed up simple canopies, created DIY seating, and set a pretty dessert table on what looks like the perfect day for a beach party.

At this beautiful beach party, Andelle kept things simple and let the amazing scenery work for her. The result rivals any resort magazine photo spread I’ve ever seen.

A sweet pennant banner with pompom trim instantly transforms a simple canopy into a party tent, and I love the tissue pom “chandlelier” hanging inside. Sturdy wicker crates and a privacy fence panel become a child-height picnic table, while whitewashed two-by-fours and a few lengths of cut planks create seating all around. In the adjacent tent, a picnic blanket and precious play tent make a cabana for little ones to play pretend—or (shh!) nap.

A handful of nautical accents effortlessly embellish the party table. Sand-colored starfish, a small wooden sailboat with a crisp white sail, white finger starfish, and white wooden monograms for Tristan and Tayla are simple party decoration ideas, but they exude Cape Town style.

An easy party menu looks sophisticated on white serving ware and in clear glass. Treats like white chocolate shells and starfish, Rice Krispy treats, star sugar cookies, lady fingers half dipped in white chocolate, and popcorn in soufflé cups with bubble lids (what a fabulous idea!) somehow seem just a little fancier in this lovely setting. Lots of icy lemonade is nearby in a metal tub for thirsty beach goers.

Whimsical Cakes whipped up some amazing confections for this celebration. Tristan’s and Tate’s luscious white birthday cakes are delightfully similar, yet unique. And have you ever seen a sand castle cake that truly looks just like a real sand castle?! I know the guests just loved it!

This sibling beach birthday party is simply breathtaking. As a destination celebration, it keeps decorations to a minimum to let the scenery stand out, but any of these creative party planning ideas would work for an at-home beach-themed boy’s birthday party too.

He has taught her that it's okay to jump first and look later, to wear a dirty shirt to the park and to decide that today is a good day to take a nap in your rubber boots.
