A Little Monster Themed Boy’s 1st Birthday

If you are looking for a cute and colorful idea to celebrate a boy’s 1st birthday, this little monster themed party by Carol Colon, of Partylicious, is the one!  Carol combined orange and black chevron print with a rainbow of bright colors and a not-so-scary dessert table featuring monster treats and decorations.  I am sure the vividly colored party supplies caught the attention of guests, both old and young!   Prepare yourself for an abundance of cuteness in this fantastic boy’s first birthday bash!

This little monster party started with darling invitations!  See those adorable monsters?  They set the tone for the event, and you’ll see them replicated throughout the styling.  I love when there is continuity from start to finish.

This monster birthday party was also attended by cardboard cut-out monsters who surrounded the dessert table.

The focal point of the event was the giant blue fluffy monster backdrop with large eyes and a mouth.  Isn’t it the perfect scene setter for a monster party?  Paired with the monster-inspired balloon arrangements which stood on each side of the table, this display was set to impress!  Don’t you just love the monster accent pillows, too?  Carol did not miss a single detail! Colorful printed linens and bright birthday banners brought the table to life and provided a home to some gorgeous desserts.  I think the oversized monsters guarding the table are such a cute addition.

This three-tiered monster birthday cake is absolutely adorable.

Using her go-to dessert specialist, Sugar Bliss by Mari, the dessert table incorporated Carol’s favorites.  There were bright monster cookies, marshmallow pops creatively displayed on striped paper straws, chocolate covered “eyeball” Oreos, monster-topped brownies, macarons, plus Nutella and cheesecake tarts.  Beautifully shaped apothecary jars were also filled with sugary delights.  Carol did a great job arranging treat covered trays and mixing in a few pails and art easel displays to add height and interest. I love the printed labels that accompanied each selection.  It’s a great way to help guests choose when there is an abundance of treats!  Joyanna Valentine, at Joyadiel Party Shop, knocked the cake design out of the park!  She used Carol’s monster printable designs as inspiration for the cake.  The detail work is incredible – what cute little edible monsters!

In keeping with the monster theme, Carol set up a beverage station with a monster beverage dispenser offering fruit punch and monster embellished water bottles with striped straws.  Cups, napkins and monster favor boxes from Oriental Trading completed the look.

These green monster favor bags are the perfect way for your guests to leave your party in theme.

A chevron covered table was set up with a cute “thank you” sign and acted as a favor station.  Carol costumed green favor bags in cute monster faces and attached a thank you tag with ribbon.  The monster bags were filled with candy, monster cups and plush monster toys from Oriental Trading.  The favors sound like the perfect picks for scaring up some more monster fun after the party!

While this party was too cute to scare the pants off of anyone, it definitely impressed the pants off of me!  Chalk this up to another great Partylicious party!
