A Good vs. Evil Star Wars Dessert Table

By  | Last Updated:

The party planning creative “force” was strong in this good vs. evil Star Wars dessert table, by Yolanda Cerra of Kiss With Style! With Darth Vader chosen as the central figure for this popular theme, using ebony black was imperative; accents of red and blue created party drama. The awesome invitations and dessert table backdrop by Madison Designs Studio, and printable decorations by Anders Ruff Custom Designs, would surely delight any Star Wars fan. Jacqueline Lock Photography captured the exciting details so you don’t have to miss the incredible LED lit cake stand, which is just one of the galactic sized details of this incredible Star Wars dessert table.

The inky-black backdrop with starlight pinpricks is an iconic symbol to introduce the Star Wars theme. I love how Yolanda used lightsabers to direct attention to the “Long ago and far away”—which tied the here and now together. The large Darth Vader and Storm Trooper masks look eerily ominous and oh-so-perfect on the table. Can’t you imagine the birthday boy and his guests attempting to speak in Darth Vader’s voice?!

Spectacular desserts by Cakes and Biscuits by Lisa complemented the impressive table top décor. I’m sure boys would attempt to levitate the incredible Darth Vader and Storm Trooper cake pops, star covered, chocolate Oreos, and Darth Vader and Storm Trooper cupcakes, one way or another!  Ebony serving pieces kept that “dark side” vibe intact. Printable food labels and a birthday banner coordinated perfectly with the theme.

My very favorite dessert table offering has to be the awesome Star Wars galaxy cake with lightsaber detailing.  Not only is the cake itself a work of art, but the LED cake stand displaying it (Kelly’s Cake Toppers) is fabulous!  That (saber) candle-holding Darth Vader cake topper is pretty cool, too.

Other sweet treats included wonderful Star Wars themed sugar cookies, custom printable wrapped candy bars and creative candy roll lightsabers. Amazing orb-shaped gumball dispensers were a perfect choice for this table. Don’t they look like some sort of space travel vehicles?

Place settings were kept simple with star themed plates and water bottles with Star Wars labels. Using printables is an easy way to customize varied pieces for a coordinated look.

Party favors went home in sleek black sacks, accented with Star Wars printable circle tags and red ribbon.

Yolanda proved by her styling for this party that black is anything but basic…and she’s got the force to back her up!
