Boy's Nautical Birthday Party Dessert Table Ideas

Imagine the thrill of styling the dessert table for a baby shower and then subsequently having the honor of designing the special first birthday party for the same baby a year later.  This is the charge Stephanie enjoyed as she sought to plan an event to honor a very special baby. As both the graphic designer and the event planner, Stephanie used her talents to coordinate a lovely event from start to finish.

Set in a gorgeous park, in front of an old brick wall, the dessert buffet (Sonia Ben Dekhill, Ô saveurs & délices) was a sweet addition to a lovely event. Children could frolic in the open space under a big old tree decorated with poms while enjoying a children’s singer who was part of the entertainment.

Preppy custom signage above the dessert table, brightly reminded guests of the reason for the celebration: “Captain Georgi is turning 1”.  Paired with fish netting, it added a festive touch to the dessert space.

Stephanie incorporated classic nautical décor that freshened up the display while staying true to the theme.  A captain’s wheel, vividly colored paper anchors and wooden boats were perfect props!  I love how the twin boats served a dual purpose as both décor and cupcake displays.  Sweetly embellished cupcakes fit perfectly on the “shelves” inside the boats.  Aren’t the sea-inspired toppers adorable?

A perfectly coordinating cake by  Les Glaceurs, with brilliant fondant stripes and sailboat detailing, was the center showpiece for the table.  Nautical rope detailing at the base and a sweet fondant banner were just precious.

Other enticing options included skewered fruit kabobs, fishy crackers, unicorn pops and a variety of candy displayed in apothecary jars and glass vessels. Coordinating printable circle logos and ribbon added a simple custom touch. Napkins tied up with twine and little mint lifesavers were housed in metal pails.  Shells were purposefully used as table scatter and provided a hint of the beach next to a weathered oar.

Boy's Nautical Birthday Party Fan Ideas

Bright paper fans with custom printable embellishments connected the dessert buffet to a coordinating serving and party favor table.  It was dressed up for the party with a life preserver and custom nautical style, printable birthday flags.

Color coordinating plates, napkins, cups and utensils were neatly displayed on an old wooden crate, which gave some nice height to the table. It was also a wonderful home to the lighthouse nautical décor. The “welcome aboard” sign with anchor detailing is such a great focal piece for the table, helping to tie all of the elements together.

Stephanie prepared party favors wrapped in breezy blue paper and adhered adorable custom thank you tags with an iconic sail boat design.  I love the way the packages pop against the striped table cover. I bet guests could hardly wait to tear into the packages and see the surprises in store.

What a sea-worthy celebration for Georgi and what a beautiful encore styling performance by Stephanie!
