The Stain Removal Hack Every Mom of Boys Should Know
For years, I’ve loved using Dawn Dish Soap when it was time to clean our dishes. It’s easy on my sensitive skin, plus does an amazing job cutting through grease. Dawn goes beyond the sink for lots of other uses as well. I’ll never forget the first time I saw my grandmother use Dawn for her laundry though! It never occurred to me that I could use a drop of Dawn to rid my favorite shirt of a grease spot left from a drop of salad dressing. Genius!
- Apply Dawn directly to any cotton/polycotton fabric, covering the entire stained area, and rub it in using your fingers.
- Then wash it normally with Tide in your washing machine.
I’ve learned for best results, you should use less than two teaspoons of Dawn in a top-loading washing machine. You also can’t use it on delicate fabrics like silk. I suggest spot testing with a small drop in a less visible area to make the material will not be damaged.
It’s amazing how quickly and easily pesky spots come up using Dawn. I highly recommend it — especially for families with busy little boys. 🙂
I hope you’ll join me for the #DawnBeyondtheSink Twitter Party on Tuesday, October 28 at 9pm EST. Be sure to RSVP here to join the fun.
