Saving for College with Help from UPromise
As a mom, I am always thinking about my boys and their future. With three children, I’m aware of future schooling expenses. I want my boys to go to college and I’m determined to help them get there. While working to save for college on our own is our first defenese, I’m also excited to take advantage of other opportunities to help.
That’s why I love the Upromise program. It’s a free to join rewards program where members can earn money for college. To date, members have received more than $800 million! Just by starting your online shopping at Upromise.com, you can choose from hundreds of retailers and earn up to 5%. Some of my favorites are Old Navy, Target and Staples. I’m forever searching great deals online; boys clothes from Old Navy, office supplies from Staples, and maybe a new bag for mama. Earning cash back for my boy’s future is a no brainer that I’m excited to do.
If you use a Upromise credit card, you can earn up to 10% back. All money earned can be placed in a 529 college savings plan, deposited into a Sallie Mae savings account, sent via check, or used to pay down existing student loans.
During the month of March, Upromise is increasing the cash back opportunities. Nearly 300 online are participating to increase the earnings to 7-20% back — all while purchasing items you already need.
Also during the month of March, Upromise is asking people to share savings tips on the Upromise Facebook page. You’ll have the chance to win $500 for your Upromise account. Just head over and “like” their page and share your own college savings tip. The winner will be announced March 26 and details are available at facebook.com/Upromise.
If you’re saving for college like our family, I would encourage you to check out the Upromise program as well!
