Boy Bash on a Budget Challenge

[Boy Bash] Football Birthday Dessert Table!

By  | Last Updated:

Every Tuesday till early September we’re going to be featuring a budget themed dessert table or tablescape from the talented women who have graciously volunteered to take on our Boy Bash on a Budget Challenge. And we’re even going to throw our own work into the ring from time to time and follow the same budget confines. Every participant gets the Spaceships and Laser Beams Collection of their choice + $50 for a dessert table or $20 for a tablescape. They can also use anything they are able beg or borrow, make themselves or already own.

Today’s Boy Bash on a Budget Challenge submission is a football themed dessert “table’ created by Jessica of Fancy Cake Art. What I love about Jessica’s approach is that she took game day foods such as hamburgers, pizza, hot dogs, fries and popcorn and made dessert versions of them. I think any boy (or girl) would find this very cool. More about the set-up in Jessica’s own words at the end of the post. What’s really impressive is just how much of a trooper Jessica is. She took these photos in her kitchen during Hurricane Isaac. Much appreciated Jessica!!!!!!

Love these TWINKIE hot dogs! I think boys would too!

In Jessica’s own words…
Since the theme of the party was “Game Day”, I decided to do game day inspired desserts. We had cupcake burgers, candy fries, cookie pizza, chocolate popcorn cupcakes, twinkie hotdogs, and mini cokes! I really did not purchase any decor. I spent $23 to have the printable’s professionally printed. The rest of the items I already had. For example, I had the football plates left over from the super bowel and I made some pom-poms with tissue paper. I also used my son’s toy football! Thank you for letting me participate. I had a great time and my little boy (who is 3) LOVED helping making the desserts.

Stephanie is in love with a boy named Sam. He has taught her that it's okay to jump first and look later, to wear a dirty shirt to the park and to decide that today is a good day to take a nap in your rubber boots. She hangs out here blogging at Spaceships and Laser Beams and at our printable party shop on Etsy.
