Pirate Birthday Party Dessert Table!

| Stephanie Keeping | Party Central Comments

Today's adorable boy's birthday party was thrown by Peta of Pure Bliss Creations. She planned it for her son's third birthday party. As he is a fan of all things pirate, choosing the theme was a no-brainer. I am loving all the detail and props she incorporated into the pirate themed dessert table. You can actually hear more about this party in Peta's own words (in italics) at the end of the post!

About the pirate-themed party, Peta says:

My son Jack loves pirates so the decision on a theme for his 3rd birthday party was simple ... a Pirate Party! The thing he loves most about pirates is the adventure, following the treasure map and finding hidden treasures. So the party was designed based on the elements of bounty's, treasure and good old fashioned adventure!
I hand-cut the shape of waves and attached to a riser to create the rising sea around the pirate standing tall against his treasure chest cake. An old wooden chest was transferred into a pirate bounty overflowing with swords, weapons, telescopes, and precious beads and jewels. The trusty parrot "Rio" sat careful watch next to the treasure chest ready to screech if anyone dared to touch the treasure. On the other side of the table, a tall pirate ship with crew sat atop a leather case strewn with old fishing net. Bottles filled with treasure maps and cups filled with pirate rum, and sweet delights such as candy bracelets and Jaffa Cannonballs were set out on the table. Two beautiful bronze metal buckets were filled with pirate cakepops and lollypops with personalised labels. Each pirate was given there own personalised lolly bags to fill with sweet treats at the end of the party as their pirate bounty!
As the birthday boy loves adventure, his one request was that we go on a treasure hunt. The pirates sang a tune and followed the lead of the Captain as they searched for the bounty boxes which had been hidden around the yard containing treasures such as leather pouches, telescopes, eye patches and pirate jewels, they then walked the plank to receive a bubble sword and slid down the pirate slide to find the final Treasure Chest which had a pirate hat with the name of each child spelt with adhesive foam letters. The pirate adventure was a big hit with all the kids who were very excited to search for the treasures & receive their pirate loot!
