Every Tuesday till early September we're going to be featuring a budget themed dessert table or tablescape from the talented women who have graciously volunteered to take on our Boy Bash on a Budget Challenge. And we're even going to throw our own work into the ring from time to time and follow the same budget confines. Every participant gets the Spaceships and Laser Beams Collection of their choice + $50 for a dessert table or $20 for a tablescape. They can also use anything they are able beg or borrow or make themselves.

It's Tuesday! And this week's Boy Bash on a Budget Challenge feature is a little special because it is actually a real party! Dorangela of Two Prince Bakery Theater hosted this vintage racecar themed birthday party for her son Victor Andrew's seventh birthday. Using the collection that Janelle designed as her basis, she created a party that her son loved -- and, most impressively, an entirely gluten free casein free and soy free dessert table with our Boy Bash on a Budget Challenge shoestring budget. If you have ever tried to bake with premium ingredients you will know just how much of a feat that is!

I already had the race car box, so it was free! I also had the black vase I used as a pedestal, but regardless, it was super cheap $1.00 from Ikea. The checkerboard fabric was $5.00, I used my 50% off coupon to buy it. I already had a backdrop holder, so that was free. The cake, was a jig saw puzzle cake mold, $8.00, and a nightmare to decorate! Icing, I made and already had all the ingredients for it, the cake mix was $10.00, and I used it for the cake and cupcakes.

These cute little trophies were just $1.00 for a pack of 4 so I purchased two packages for a total of $2.00.

These cute little candy holders were purchased at Michael's for $1 each for a total of $3.00. I filled them with three different kind of candies, they each held one box of candy for $1 each for a total of $3.00.

These cupcakes were a fun addition. I found the Ace of Cakes cookie and cake tattoos, made of sugar, at HomeGoods for $2.00 for a total of 2 sheets of assorted birthday tattoos. I used my two inch whole puncher to make them into cupcake toppers, with a lot leftover for another party.
