[Inspiration] Kicking It Old School

| Stephanie | Party Central Comments

We swore there'd be no pink involved with Spaceships and Laser Beams but we make an exception for these super fun erasers that were used as name tag holders. And they're just one of the wonderful details that were created for an "Old School" party by Abbey of Aesthetic Outburst for her son's third birthday. (For some reason, whenever I type that party theme all I can think of is Will Ferrell running through the streets naked.)

Check out the invites below, I love how involved they are. Each one included an orange ceramic three and a graph paper scroll with the party details, which were sent out in mint tins she found at her local dollar store. (Abbey is a woman after my own heart. For Sam's first birthday we did a robot theme and the invite was super complicated - topped off with an envelope that was shaped like a spaceships. Did I mention that it took me about two weeks to hand assemble them all? Mike thought I was nuts for putting all that time into something that Sam would never remember.)

These adorable flags doubled as decor and a favor. Such a fun idea. Abbey inspired me for our Football Fun photo shoot coming up this weekend.

And this might be my favorite of all Abbey's photos. In her post she says "I made the felt 'E' ribbon for him to wear during the party, but of course he hated it and refused to wear (in his words) "that ting"." Boys! I think any mom of a little boy can relate.

Check out Abbey's post for more party details and pictures. Also, her blog in general is a fabulous destination if you've never been there before.
